2012-02-13_Rose_and_Francesca_2Rose’s smile conveys more than words can tell. In one day she received a new wheelchair and new life in Christ. Rose is 2nd in her family of three siblings. She was born with Spina bifida, and later developed hydrocephalus. Rose has been using a wheelchair too big for her, and tears well in her eyes as she narrates how she was unable to go to church, because she had no one to push her. But she received a modified wheelchair from the Hope Haven team from the US that visited Joytown and distributed wheelchairs which were modified for the individual user.

Rose broke her leg twice several years ago and had to drop out of school. Her mom stayed at home with her. Rose came to Joytown in January. A few hours before she was given her wheelchair, Francesca talked to her, and Rose gave her life to Christ! She was so excited that she asked to call her mother on the phone and share the news!

As more children receive wheelchairs modified to suit them, the Hope Haven team is bringing that glitter of hope for a better, more dignified and comfortable life for these little ones at Joytown.
