BethanyKids

Frequently Asked Questions

Paeds_Neuro_roomDoes BethanyKids treat non-Christians as well as Christians?
Yes!  In addition to treating anyone who comes to Kijabe Hospital we also travel to mobile clinics across Kenya to find children who need surgical or rehabilitative care.

How do you use my donations?
We use the money to provide surgical and rehabilitative care for children at BethanyKids at Kijabe Hospital and at the mobile clinics.  We have more than 60 employees in Kenya, including nurses, therapists, administrators and communications staff.  We use some of the funds to travel to other African countries to provide care for children and also to seek new partners for our work.  We have the only accredited training program for surgeons in East Africa.  In addition to the staff members in Kenya, we have three full-time and two part-time employees in the US who administer the program and raise funds for BethanyKids to continue its work.

Can I volunteer with BethanyKids?
We are grateful for everyone who chooses to work with us.  You can find more information about how you can help, including volunteer opportunities, here.

Where is Kijabe?
Kijabe stands on the edge of the Great Rift Valley at an altitude of 2200 meters, 50 kilometers north-west of Nairobi. Its name is Masai for "Place of the Wind". The town is located between Limuru and Naivasha. There are actually two places called Kijabe. Kijabe Town is located approximately two kilometers north-west of Kijabe Mission Station, which includes Kijabe Hospital, CURE Hospital, Moffatt Bible College, and Rift Valley Academy.

Does BethanyKids do child adoptions?
No.  Our work is in Kijabe, Kenya.  Sometimes, because of our name, people confuse us with Bethany Christian Services, which is the US's largest adoption agency.
